Enraptured-In book four of the series, Orpheus is on a mission. He needs to find the warlock and the orb. He needs them both in order to save Gryphon from the underworld. Of course not many people know the real reason he wants the orb. Most everyone thinks he wants the power it can give him.
As a result Zeus sends the sirens after him and Hades sends his hellhounds. After he enlists the help of Maelea, Zeus and Persephine’s daughter, Orpheus drags her to the colony after Hades realizes where she is and tries to stop him from getting what he needs. Orpheus has also gained help from an unexpected source, a siren named Skyla.
Skyla has been ordered to stop Orpheus from getting the orb. Unfortunately it seems she and Orpheus have a past. He doesn’t remember her and she doesn’t trust him. He has exasperated her as much as he turns her on. She refuses to let him out of her sight. Of course her opinions change the longer she is with him trying to find the orb.
When memories come crashing back and the ultimate rescue mission ensues, Orpheus is reeling from his guilt, his conscience, and his newly found heart and soul.
I so love the character of Orpheus. I have since the beginning of the series. He is an outcast and half daemon. He also tries to be the local bad boy. He truly believes he is part evil with no soul. Of course his true self shines through as he strikes out to save his brother.
The author doesn’t disappoint with battle scenes and torture. Lots of secrets are included and create a complicated plot as the Argonauts continue fighting and protecting the humans and misos. This is a great way to continue the story. I can’t wait to read the next book. I give it a 4 out of 5.

I love this series. I look forward to each new book.
Orpheus has always intrigued me. I could not wait to find out his whole story. I liked Skyla's character. I think they made a good pair. I felt in the last book that Orpheus created a bit of a mess while trying to do something good. I think it was totally understandable. In a bit of a panic, he set out to right a wrong with Gryphon and it ended up working against them all. This is the story of him setting everything straight again. He redeems himself, most importantly to himself, in the process. I have felt, for a few books now, that O is worth more than he gives himself credit for. I am so happy he finally realizes it, maybe.
My heart breaks for Maelea. I feel like she is stuck between two worlds, not wanted by either and hated by some. I will enjoy reading her story and hope she gets a HEA she deserves. I see it happening with Gryphon, whose journey is just beginning. I am hoping she is the one to bring his darkness out of him and bring him back to the lighthearted hero he used to be.
Okay, despite the four-star rating, I have to put it out there - I was a little disappointed by the ending. I know in saying that I'm probably going against the greater majority and I'm going to have a few tomatoes thrown at me, but there it is.
But all of that is jumping the gun. This is my fourth read in the series, having started from the beginning, and I have to tell you - I don't know about anyone else, but I've been digging Orpheus since his introduction in the second book, Entwined (I can't remember him being in Marked, the first book in the series, but if he did have a part in it - it was understated). I think he is the most dangerous kind of sexy, him being part Argolean, Medean, and deamon. Not just that, but I just found his character so in-your-face and roguish. He answered to no one - not the Argonauts or the gods.
Or so was the case in books of previous installments. If you are reading this coming off of the last book, Tempted, then you'll know why Orpheus is feeling the guilt over what happened to his brother and former Argonaut, Gryphon. He will stop at nothing to see his brother's soul freed from the underworld. Problem is, he has a Siren trailing him, complicating things for him both physically and emotionally.
I sound like a broken record, but I want to say again that I don't like giving away even the slightest spoilers when I give a review. You can find out just enough in the story info to tell you what the gist of this story is and you know enough if you've read any of the others before this one (and probably after). With that said, I have a gripe with the way this one turned out particularly given Orpheus' predicament and personality.
I understand that this entire series is based on the developing romances between each Argonaut and their soulmates - but is that really necessary? This particular storyline was good all by itself without the melodrama of Orpheus and Skyla's conflicting feelings for one another. I don't feel Orpheus should have succumbed to the same weakness as the other Argonauts had with Hera's so-called "curse". Orpheus seemed so focus with his cause to save his brother for his relationship with Skyla to grow the way I felt the author forced it to.
As much as I really liked the book overall, by the end of this I was ready for it to end. The ending disappoints me in that I thought it would finish one way and ended instead the way I knew it would and, I'm sorry, I just didn't think it worked for this particular bad-ass.
